The water breaks...
sometimes through the gush
of great revelations
sometimes through the trickle
of daily insights
and we feel the push and pull
of the wind of new ideas
dragging us out of the foolishness
of our old ways.
The water breaks...
sometimes through the gush
of great encounters
sometimes through the trickle
of daily relationships
and we feel the push and pull
of the wind of new neighbors
dragging us out of the isolation
of our hiding places.
The water breaks...
and there is no way to withhold
the flow of life that emerges;
we have no choice
but to embrace the labor pains.
Unless, of course,
we don’t want to be born again,
and prefer instead to abort.

Se rompe la fuente...
a veces por medio del chorro
de grandes revelaciones
a veces por medio del goteo
de cotidianas reflexiones
y sentimos el empuje y la atracción
del viento de las nuevas ideas
que nos arrastran del absurdo
de nuestras costumbres anticuadas.
Se rompe la fuente...
a veces por medio del chorro
de grandes encuentros
a veces por medio del goteo
de cotidianas relaciones
y sentimos el empuje y la atracción
del viento de las nuevos vecinos
que nos arrastran del aislamiento
de nuestros escondites seguros.
Se rompe la fuente...
y no hay modo de detener
el flujo de
vida que emerge;
no hay otra opción
que acoger los dolores de parto.
A menos, desde luego,
que no queramos nacer de nuevo,
que prefiramos abortar.
