When the adverts offer us everything,
if only we have the money...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You offer us everything,
if only we do without...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

When the easier way to succeed
means we lose our integrity...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You lead us down the harder way,
even if it means losing our pride...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

When the church wants us to conform
and be nice...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You want us to rebel
and be real...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

When our friends don’t respect
what we count as important...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You asks us to honor
those the world deems insignificant...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

When we feel You have let us down
and we want to leave you...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You call us to follow you
and to leave all behind for your sake...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

When we come to a crossroads
and are tempted to stand still...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “no.”

When You meet us along the journey
and invite us to take risks...
Lord Jesus Christ, help us to say “yes.”

We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ,
who is God’s “yes”
to the way of the cross and the promise of new life.

Cuando sentimos que Tú nos has defraudado
y queremos abandonarte...

y sentimos la tentación de detenernos...

Cuando Tú nos sorprendes por el camino
y nos invitas a exponernos...

Oramos estas cosas en el nombre de Jesucristo,
quien es el “sí” de Dios
al camino de la cruz y la promesa de nueva vida.
