Friendship bracelets made by children at a church retreat. / Pulseras de la amistad hechas por niñas en un retiro de la iglesia.

1
Help us accept each other
as Christ accepted us
teach us as sister, brother
each person to embrace.
Be present God, among us
and bring us to believe
we are ourselves accepted
and meant to love and live.

2
Teach us, O God, your lessons,
as in our daily life
we struggle to be human
and search for hope and faith.
Teach us to care for people,
for all not just for some,
to love them as we find them
or as they may become.

3
Let your acceptance change us,
so that we may be moved
in living situations
to do the truth in love;
to practice your acceptance
until we know by heart
the table of forgiveness
and laughter’s healing art.

4
God, for today’s encounters
with all who are in need;
who hunger for acceptance
for righteousness and bread.
we need new eyes for seeing,
new hands for holding on
renew us with your Spirit;
and free us, make us one!

Himno: “Ayúdanos a aceptarnos”

1
Ayúdanos oh, Cristo,
al prójimo, aceptar,
a toda etnia y raza
sin temor abrazar.
Pedimos tu presencia
en la comunidad,
para construir juntos
una gran hermandad.

2
Enséñanos, Maestro,
contigo a caminar,
viendo en cada esfuerzo
razón para confiar.
Permite que aprendamos
a tener compasión
de todas tus criaturas
sin hacer distinción.

3
Que tu gracia nos cambie,
que guíe nuestro actuar,
queremos cada instante
tu verdad encarnar.
Vamos, pues, a imitarte
hasta memorizar
los gestos, las acciones
que nos pueden sanar.

4
A cada paso hallamos
gente sin provisión,
con hambre de justicia,
buscando aceptación.
Despeja nuestra vista,
afirma la intención,
con tu Espíritu danos
plena renovación.
