From the Pastor: “On the Paraclete"
As I write these words, thunderstorms are raging from Louisiana to Ohio, and some of my friends in Kentucky can’t go to sleep because of tornado warnings. Where do you take refuge in the face of fear? In today’s Gospel reading (John 14:15-21), Jesus reminds his fearful disciples that he will not leave them alone; he will send them the Paraclete (a word which in Greek means “advocate, helper, and comforter”). May we experience the presence of the Paraclete as we go through the challenges of our daily life, and may we be advocates, helpers, and comforters for one another.

De la Pastora: “Sobre el Paracleto"
Al escribir estas palabras, las tormentas rugen desde Louisiana hasta Ohio, y algunas de mis amistades en Kentucky no pueden dormir por causa de los avisos de tornado. ¿Dónde se refugia usted cuando tiene miedo? En la lectura del Evangelio para hoy (Juan 14:15-21), Jesús le recuerda a sus atemorizados discípulos que no los dejará solos; les mandará el Paracleto (una palabra que en griego significa “abogado, ayudante y consolador”). Ojalá que experimentemos la presencia del Paracleto al enfrentar los retos del diario vivir, y que seamos defensa, ayuda y consuelo para nuestros semejantes.
