From the Pastor: “On Salt and Light”
This week the Chicago area was hit with a blizzard that dumped 20 to 22 inches of snow. It was the story of the week. But there’s another story that hardly got any coverage: the way neighbors helped each other to clear away the snow! The Gospel reading for this Sunday remind us that Christians are called to be salt of the earth and light of the world. We are called to enhance and to shine, to preserve and to guide. Does it take an emergency for your salt to come out of the shaker, and your light to shine? Come Holy Spirit; shake us up, and light us up! ~ Rev. Magdalena I. García

De la Pastora: “Sobre la Sal y la Luz”
Esta semana el área de Chicago fue azotada con una tormenta que descargó 20 a 22 pulgadas de nieve. Fue la noticia de la semana. Pero hay otra noticia que apenas recibió cobertura: ¡la manera en que los vecinos se ayudaron a remover la nieve! La lectura del Evangelio de este domingo nos recuerda que los cristianos estamos llamados a ser sal de la tierra y luz del mundo. Estamos llamados a mejorar y alumbrar, a preservar y guiar. ¿Hace falta una emergencia para que la sal suya salga del salero o para que su luz brille? ¡Ven, Espíritu Santo; agítanos y enciéndenos!
