From the Pastor: “On Seeing”
Matthew 5:1-12 offers us the Beatitudes. Here Jesus describes a world which is very different from ours, where those who mourn are comforted, and those who hunger are filled. Jesus once again turns everything upside down; or rather, right side up. Can we find the courage to see the world as Jesus does? When we do, we are blessed because God’s reign and God’s presence become the realities in which we live. The key question we must ask ourselves, then, is this: do we see it, or do we need new eyes? ~ Rev. Magdalena I. García

De la Pastora: “Sobre la Vista”
Mateo 5:1-12 nos ofrece las Bienaventuranzas. Allí Jesús describe un mundo muy diferente al nuestro, donde quienes lloran son consolad@s y quienes tienen hambre son saciad@s. Jesús una vez más lo pone todo de cabeza; o quizás deberíamos decir que lo pone todo de pie. ¿Podemos nosotr@s hallar el valor para ver el mundo como Jesús lo ve? Cuando lo logramos, somos bendecid@s porque el reino de Dios y la presencia de Dios se convierten en la realidad que nos rodea. La pregunta clave, por lo tanto, es ésta: ¿lo vemos, o necesitamos nuevos ojos? ~ Rev. Magdalena I. García
