a oneness rooted
not just in human achievements
but in the life of the Triune God

a oneness visible

not just in verbal assent to doctrines

but in the witness of the gathered church

a oneness embodied

not just in zones of familiarity and comfort

but in our engagement across the human divides

a oneness expressed

not just in dealings with peoples and nations

but in our stewardship of the whole earth

a oneness proclaimed

not just among our own faith tradition

but in our relationships with people 
of different religions and beliefs

Gathering God,  
forgive us for going our separate ways.

Call us together and heal us 
from the malaise of disunity,

so that your glory may be manifested 
in all creation.

Unifying God,  
forgive us for fostering rivalry and enmity.

Draw us together and weave us 
into a durable, polychromatic fabric,

so that your love may be manifested 
in all creation.

una unidad enraizada

no sólo en los logros humanos

sino en la vida del Dios Trino

una unidad visible

no sólo en el asentimiento verbal de las doctrinas

sino en el testimonio de la iglesia congregada

una unidad encarnada

no sólo en las zonas de familiaridad y comodidad,

sino en nuestro compromiso allende las divisiones humanas

una unidad expresada

no sólo en nuestros tratos con pueblos y naciones

sino en nuestra mayordomía de toda la tierra

una unidad proclamada
no sólo entre nuestra propia tradición de fe
sino en nuestras relaciones con gente 

de diferentes religiones y creencias

Dios Agrupador, 
perdónanos por seguir caminos separados.

Llámanos y sánanos 
del malestar de la desunión,

para que tu gloria pueda manifestarse 
en toda la creación.

Dios Unificador,  
perdónanos por fomentar la rivalidad y la enemistad.

Júntanos y entrelázanos 
en un tejido resistente y policromático,

para que tu amor pueda manifestarse 
en toda la creación.
