but we prefer reinforcing our dwelling.
God calls us to renounce the familiar,
but we prefer clinging to tradition.
God calls us to attempt new beginnings,
but we prefer protecting our investments.
God calls us to enter a foreign land,
but we prefer inhabiting known landscapes.
God calls us to embrace the stranger,
but we prefer gathering with our kindred.
God calls us to become a great nation,
but we prefer belonging to a clan.
God calls us to be a blessing,
but we prefer calling ourselves blessed.
God of the Past,
take away our confidence in the proven,
and help us to answer the call
trusting in your promises.
God of the Present,
take away our attachment to the profitable,
and help us to answer the call
trusting in your promises.
God of the Future,
take away our fear of the unknown,
and help us to answer the call

Dios nos llama a emprender un peregrinaje,
pero preferimos reforzar nuestro alojamiento.
Dios nos llama a renunciar a lo familiar,
pero preferimos aferrarnos a la tradición.
Dios nos llama a intentar nuevos comienzos,
pero preferimos proteger nuestras inversiones.
Dios nos llama a entrar en tierra extranjera,
pero preferimos habitar en paisajes conocidos.
Dios nos llama a acoger al forastero,
pero preferimos reunirnos con nuestros similares.
Dios nos llama a convertirnos en una gran nación,
pero preferimos pertenecer a un clan.
Dios nos llama a ser de bendición,
pero preferimos autodenominarnos bendecidos.
Dios del Pasado,
arrebátanos la confianza en lo comprobado,
y ayúdanos a responder al llamado
confiando en tus promesas.
Dios del Presente,
arrebátanos el apego a lo rentable,
y ayúdanos a responder al llamado
confiando en tus promesas.
Dios del Futuro,
arrebátanos el miedo a lo desconocido,
y ayúdanos a responder al llamado
