Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de no cruzar palabra
con la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de saciarnos enfrente
de la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de no compartir el cubo
a la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de negarle acceso al pozo
a la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de privatizar el pozo y explotar
a la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de cerrar el pozo en vez de cederlo
a la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed
y ayúdanos a resistir la tentación
de construir un muro para alejar
a la multitud sedienta.

Danos sed, Dios de la Creación,
a quienes alegamos ser portadorxs
de las buenas nuevas de tu Agua Viva,
porque nos estamos ahogando
de egoísmo y apatía
mientras que nuestrxs vecinxs
perecen deshidratadxs
junto al pozo comunitario
del cual nosotrxs, lxs supuestxs creyentes,
errada y vilmente
nos hemos adueñado.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to not speak a word
with the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to satisfy ourselves
before the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to withhold the bucket
from the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to deny access to the well
for the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to privatize the well and exploit
the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to close the well instead of giving it
to the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty
and help us to resist the temptation
to build a wall to keep away
the thirsty multitude.

Make us thirsty, God of Creation
all of us who claim to be carriers
of the good news of your Living Water,
because we are drowning
in selfishness and apathy
while our neighbors
perish dehydrated
next to the community well
which we, the alleged believers,
have mistakenly and despicably
taken over.
