From the Pastor: “On Love”
Valentine’s Day is coming up, so this weekend love is in the air. Everywhere you turn you see red and pink, hearts and cupids, chocolates and flowers. At church we talk about love all year long, but we don’t serve champagne for communion. The reason is simple: although romance deserves to be celebrated and toasted, the kind of love most emphasized in Scripture is neither eros (sexual love) nor philia (brotherly or sisterly love), but agape (unconditional love). May God’s love dwell in us richly, that we might learn the meaning of agape love!

De la Pastora: “Sobre el Amor”
Ya se acerca el Día de San Valentín, así que este fin de semana el amor está en el aire. Por todos lados vemos rojo y rosado, corazones y cupidos, chocolates y flores. En la iglesia hablamos del amor todo el año, pero no servimos champán en la comunión. La razón es sencilla: aunque el romance merece una celebración y un brindis, el tipo de amor que más enfatiza la Biblia no es ni eros (amor sexual) ni filia (amor filial), sino agape (amor incondicional). ¡Qué el amor de Dios habite abundantemente en nosotros para que aprendamos el significado del amor agape!
