“Amanece” / “Dawn”

Amanecer del día de Año Nuevo sobre mi calle. / New Year’s Day sunrise on my street.

Amanece un nuevo día,
un nuevo año,
un nuevo decenio.

Es como un árbol invernal
a la espera de hojas frescas y verdes
que anuncien  la primavera,
y que traigan renovada esperanza
para toda la humanidad.

Qué esta soleada mañana de enero
la tengamos presente todo el año,
recordándonos que no hay noche interminable,
anunciándonos que siempre amanece.

Y qué esta soleada mañana de enero
nos anime a seguir abriendo surcos,
sembrando semillas de justicia y compasión,
para que cosechemos hermosos frutos
de paz, prosperidad y cooperación.

“Dawn”

A new day,
a new year,
a new decade dawns.

It’s like a winter tree
awaiting fresh, green leaves
that announce the spring
and bring renewed hope
for all of humanity.

May this sunny January morning
be present with us all year long,
reminding us that there is no endless night,
proclaiming that morning always comes.

And may this sunny January morning
encourage us to keep opening furrows,
sowing seeds of justice and compassion,
so that we may harvest beautiful fruits
of peace, prosperity and cooperation.
