In a world where greed rules,
give us courage, God of the Manger,
to live in such a way
that we announce your justice,
and give witness to your light.

In a world where falsehoods rule,
give us courage, God of the Shepherds,
to live in such a way
that we reveal your truth,
and give witness to your light.

In a world where apathy rules,
give us courage, God of the Magi
to live in such a way
that we show your mercy,
and give witness to your light.

In a world where weapons rule,
give us courage, God of the Star,
to live in such a way
that we manifest your peace,
and give witness to your light.

In a world where selfishness rules,
give us courage, God of the Cross,
to live in such a way
that we declare your jubilee,
and give witness to your light.

En un mundo donde reina la avaricia,
danos valor, Dios del Pesebre,
para vivir de manera tal
que anunciemos tu justicia
y demos testimonio de tu luz.

En un mundo donde reina la mentira,
danos valor, Dios de los Pastores,
para vivir de manera tal
que revelemos tu verdad
y demos testimonio de tu luz.

En un mundo donde reina la apatía,
danos valor, Dios de los Magos,
para vivir de manera tal
que mostremos tu misericordia
y demos testimonio de tu luz.

En un mundo donde reinan las armas,
danos valor, Dios de la Estrella,
para vivir de manera tal
que manifestemos tu paz
y demos testimonio de tu luz.

En un mundo donde reina el egoísmo,
danos valor, Dios de la Cruz,
para vivir de manera tal
que declaremos tu jubileo
y demos testimonio de tu luz.

“Amanece” / “Dawn”

Amanecer del día de Año Nuevo sobre mi calle. / New Year’s Day sunrise on my street.

por Magdalena I. García

“Dawn”

by Magdalena I. García

A new day,
a new year,
a new decade dawns.

It’s like a winter tree
awaiting fresh, green leaves
that announce the spring
and bring renewed hope
for all of humanity.

May this sunny January morning
be present with us all year long,
reminding us that there is no endless night,
proclaiming that morning always comes.

And may this sunny January morning
encourage us to keep opening furrows,
sowing seeds of justice and compassion,
so that we may harvest beautiful fruits
of peace, prosperity and cooperation.
