Morning Prayer based on Psalm 145

“You open your hand, satisfying the desire of every living thing.” – Psalms 145:16 NRSV

God of the open hand,
you have given us this day, 
another chance
to live and let live,
another opportunity
to breathe and let breathe,
so that all living things
may prosper upon the earth.
And you call us to join you
in this holy work
of being a people
of open hearts and open hands.
Help us not to waste
this day, this chance, this opportunity,
to honor your image in us,
by letting go of the tight fists.
Help us to open our hands
and to join you and others
in building a world
where the desire of every living thing
is satisfied.
Amen.

Oración matutina basada en Salmos 145

“Abres tu mano, y con tu buena voluntad satisfaces a todos los seres vivos”. – Salmos 145:16 DHH

Dios de la mano abierta,
tú nos has dado este día,
otro chance
para vivir y dejar vivir,
otra oportunidad
para respirar y dejar respirar,
para que todos los seres vivientes
puedan prosperar sobre la tierra.
Y tú nos llamas
a este trabajo santo
de ser un pueblo
de corazones y manos abiertas.
Ayúdanos a no desperdiciar
este día, este chance, esta oportunidad,
de honrar tu imagen en nosotres,
al renunciar a los puños apretados.
Ayúdanos a abrir nuestras manos
y a unirlas a las tuyas y las de los demás
en la construcción de un mundo
donde el deseo de cada ser viviente
sea satisfecho.
Amén.

A prayer based on Matthew 28:16-20 and the Trinity

Tree, rope and plank:
three distinct elements,
with the same nature
and different functions,
that when brought together
make a garden swing,
a new possibility,
and thus speak to us
of the enormous potential
of association and collaboration.

Tree, rope and plank:
three common elements
that illustrate the Trinity,
a Christian doctrine
quite strange and disputed
that speaks to us of a God
with different looks,
with multiple facets,
who always chooses to work
in a team and a community.

Gregarious God,
forgive us for betraying
your original intention
that we be an ecosystem,
one body, one unit,
and for fragmenting creation
with all kinds of practices
that promote segregation.

Coexisting God,
send us by your Spirit
to give witness
in word and deed
to the good news of liberation
that Jesus announced
for the well-being of this world
that your loving hand shaped.

“Árbol, cuerda y tabla”

Una oración basada en Mateo 28:16-20 y la Trinidad

Árbol, cuerda[i] y tabla:
tres elementos distintos,
con una misma naturaleza
y diferentes funciones,
pero que al juntarse
forman un columpio de jardín,
una nueva posibilidad,
y de ese modo nos hablan
del enorme potencial
de la asociación y la colaboración.

Árbol, cuerda y tabla:
tres elementos comunes
que ilustran la Trinidad,
una doctrina cristiana
muy extraña y disputada
que nos habla de un Dios
con diferentes caras,
con múltiples facetas,
que elige siempre trabajar
en equipo y en comunidad.

Dios Gregario,
perdónanos por traicionar
tu intención original
de que seamos un ecosistema,
un sólo cuerpo, una unidad,
y por fragmentar la creación
con todo tipo de prácticas
que promueven la segregación.

Dios Convivencial,
envíanos por tu Espíritu
a dar testimonio
con palabras y hechos
de las buenas nuevas de liberación
que Jesús anunció
por el bien de este mundo
que tu amorosa mano moldeó.
