God of the dawn,
you who break the shadows
of the night
and make a way through the clouds
each sunrise
with hues blue and purple,
yellow and orange,
making designs
always new and unrepeatable,
remind us
that nothing compares
to the beauty of creation
and that our attachment
to material things
is an unnecessary burden,
a momentary distraction
and a failed attempt
to replace
that which is truly valuable
and nurtures our soul:
your spirit, O God,
which is present
in all living things
and leads us to life.

“Dios del alba”

Una oración matutina para una estación de limpieza de clósets y reducción

Dios del alba,
tú que rompes las tinieblas
de la noche
y abres camino entre las nubes
cada amanecer
con tonos azules y morados,
amarillos y anaranjados,
formando diseños
siempre nuevos e irrepetibles,
recuérdanos
que nada se compara
con la belleza de la creación
y que nuestro apego
a las cosas materiales
es una carga innecesaria,
una distracción momentánea
y un intento fallido
por reemplazar
lo que verdaderamente vale
y nutre nuestra alma:
tu espíritu, oh Dios,
que está presente
en todos los seres vivientes
y nos conduce a la vida.
