Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by staying home, aware that this is a privilege denied to many
and a primary way to protect those on the frontlines.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by avoiding close contact with the sick, even our own family,
while supporting them with our care, prayers, cards, and calls.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by keeping a distance of six feet from others in public,
and encouraging special protections for vulnerable persons.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by washing our hands often with soap and water,
giving thanks for the blessing of safe water and plumbing.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by wearing a cloth face cover or a homemade mask,
reserving personal protective equipment for healthcare workers.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by covering our cough, monitoring our symptoms,
and avoiding unnecessary visits to the emergency room.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by staying out of crowded places and mass gatherings,
remembering that church is a committed people and not an occupied building.

Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by refusing to place economic concerns above human life,
and stopping the rush to reopen the country without proper precautions.

Jesus said: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
Let us show that we love God and neighbor
by focusing on the small joys hidden in every moment,
and offering hope in the midst of despair.

“Si me aman”

Una letanía para la temporada del Covid-19 basada en Juan 14:15-21

Jesús dijo: “Si me aman, obedezcan mis mandamientos”.
Demostremos que amamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo
al quedarnos en casa, conscientes de que es un privilegio denegado a muchos
y la manera principal de proteger a los trabajadores de primera línea.

Jesús dijo: “Si me aman, obedezcan mis mandamientos”.
Demostremos que amamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo
al evitar el contacto cercano con los enfermos, incluso nuestros familiares,
mientras que les apoyamos con nuestro cuidado, oraciones, tarjetas y llamadas.

Jesús dijo: “Si me aman, obedezcan mis mandamientos”.
Demostremos que amamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo
al mantener una distancia de seis pies de los demás en público,
y alentar protecciones especiales para las personas vulnerables.

Demostremos que amamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo
al lavarnos las manos a menudo con agua y jabón,
dando gracias por la bendición de tener agua salubre y plomería.

al alejarnos de los lugares concurridos y las reuniones masivas,
recordando que la iglesia es la gente comprometida y no el edificio ocupado.

al rehusar anteponer los asuntos económicos a la vida humana
y detener la prisa por reabrir el país sin las debidas precauciones.

Demostremos que amamos a Dios y a nuestro prójimo
al enfocarnos en los pequeños gozos que se esconden en cada momento
y ofrecer esperanza en medio de la desolación.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
God cares for us like a shepherd looks after the flock.
Therefore, I trust in God’s mercy,
and renounce all ideologies that instill fear,
disrupt my sleep, and undermine my loyalty.

The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures;
and leads me beside still waters.
God cares for us like a shepherd looks after the flock.
Therefore, I trust in God’s provision,
and renounce the vice of accumulating material goods
that promote a false sense of security.

The Lord restores my soul,
and leads me in right paths for God’s name’s sake.
God cares for us like a shepherd looks after the flock.
Therefore, I trust in God’s goodness,
and renounce the lie of an economy of exploitation
and any system that is not based on equity.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil; for the Lord is with me;
God’s rod and staff—they comfort me.
God cares for us like a shepherd looks after the flock.
Therefore, I trust in God’s protection,
and renounce individualism and segregation
that only breed misery and loneliness.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Therefore, I trust in God’s abundance,
and renounce violence and war
in order to build a new world free of hostility.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

Therefore, I trust in God’s persistence,
and renounce anguish and hopelessness,
and the neglect that betrays God’s faithfulness.

“Confío y renuncio”

Una letanía basada en Salmos 23

Jehová es mi pastor; nada me faltará.
Dios nos cuida cual pastor a su rebaño.
Por tanto, confío en su misericordia,
y renuncio a la ideología que infunde miedo,
perturba mi sueño y menoscaba mi lealtad.

En lugares de delicados pastos me hará descansar;
junto a aguas de reposo me pastoreará.
Dios nos cuida cual pastor a su rebaño.
Por tanto, confío en su provisión,
y renuncio al vicio de acumular bienes materiales
que promueven un falso sentido de seguridad.

Confortará mi alma;
me guiará por sendas de justicia por amor de su nombre.
Dios nos cuida cual pastor a su rebaño.
Por tanto, confío en su bondad,
y renuncio a la mentira de una economía de explotación
y a todo sistema que no esté basado en la equidad.

Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte,
No temeré mal alguno, porque tú estarás conmigo;
tu vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento.
Dios nos cuida cual pastor a su rebaño.
Por tanto, confío en su protección,
y renuncio al individualismo y la segregación
que sólo generan miseria y soledad.

Aderezas mesa delante de mí en presencia de mis angustiadores;
unges mi cabeza con aceite; mi copa está rebosando.

Por tanto, confío en su abundancia,
y renuncio a la violencia y la guerra
para construir un mundo nuevo sin hostilidad.

Ciertamente el bien y la misericordia me seguirán
todos los días de mi vida,
y en la casa de Jehová moraré por largos días.
Dios nos cuida cual pastor a su rebaño.
Por tanto, confío en su persistencia,
y renuncio a la angustia y la desesperanza,
y al abandono que traiciona su fidelidad.
