Hay que desvelarse
y preparar especias aromáticas
para ungir los cuerpos agredidos
por la violencia y la injusticia.

Hay que madrugar
y visitar las tumbas cercanas
donde encierran y torturan
a los marginados y los silenciados.

Hay que empoderarse
y viajar en compañía
de quienes no han hecho pacto
con la conveniencia y el privilegio.

Hay que desvelarse,
hay que madrugar,
y hay que empoderarse
como hicieron las mujeres
en la primera mañana
de Resurrección,
porque todavía hay
muchas piedras por remover
para que todes tus hijes,
Dios del sepulcro vacío,
vean la luz de un nuevo día
donde no haga falta la resiliencia
porque han muerto la maldad y la miseria
y resucitan la bondad y la abundancia.

We must keep vigil
and prepare aromatic spices
to anoint the bodies assaulted
by violence and injustice.

We must rise early
and visit the nearby tombs
where the marginalized and the silenced
are confined and tortured.

We must empower ourselves
and journey in the company
of those who have made no pact
with expediency and privilege.

We must keep vigil,
we must rise early,
and we must empower ourselves—
just as the women did
on the first morning
of resurrection—
for there are still
many stones to be rolled away
so that all your children,
God of the empty tomb,
may see the light of a new day—
a day where resilience is no longer needed,
because wickedness and misery have died,
and goodness and abundance have risen.
