Jesus healed
every kind of disease and illness:
he opened the eyes of the blind,
he fed the hungry multitudes,
he touched the lepers,
he enabled the paralyzed,
he rebuked the evil spirits,
he restored the bleeding woman,
he revived the dead.

And just like Jesus,
we are called to heal
every kind of disease and illness:
to open the eyes of the privileged
who are blinded by prejudice,
to feed the multitudes
who are hungry for justice,
to befriend the marginalized
who are excluded from community,
to amplify the voices of minorities
who are paralyzed by fear,
to rebuke the hypocrisy of demagogues
who are profiting from falsehoods,
to restore the vitality of women and men
who are bleeding out under exploitation,
to revive the hope of the poor
who are buried by oblivion.

We are called…
to ministries of healing.

Jesús sanó
toda clase de enfermedades y dolencias:
abrió los ojos de los ciegos,
alimentó a las multitudes hambrientas,
tocó a los leprosos,
capacitó a los paralíticos,
reprendió a los espíritus malignos,
restauró a la mujer con sangrado,
revivió a los muertos.

Y al igual que Jesús,
somos llamados, llamadas, llamades a sanar
toda clase de enfermedades y dolencias:
a abrir los ojos de los privilegiados
que están ciegos por el prejuicio,
a alimentar las multitudes
que tienen hambre de justicia,
a entablar amistad con los marginados
que son excluidos de la comunidad,
a amplificar la voz de las minorías
que están paralizadas por el miedo,
a reprender la hipocresía de los demagogos
que se benefician de la falsedad,
a restaurar la vitalidad de mujeres y hombres
que se desangran por la explotación,
a revivir la esperanza de los pobres
que están enterrados por el olvido.

Somos llamados, llamadas, llamades…
a ministerios de sanidad.
