“Blasfemar contra el Espíritu Santo es oponerse a la obra liberadora de
Jesús, a la acción del Espíritu Santo, para seguir manteniendo oprimidos a los
pobres, enfermos y posesos.”[i] Y también para seguir marginando a quienes la tradición de la iglesia ha excluido.

¿Quién soy yo, Divinidad Creadora,
para atreverme a maldecir
aquello que en el principio
tuviste a bien bendecir?
¿Quién soy yo, Arquitecto del Universo,
para atreverme a cuestionar
aquello que en tu sabiduría
tuviste a bien diseñar?
¿Quién soy yo, Luz del Mundo,
para atreverme a despreciar
aquello que en tu gracia
tuviste a bien rescatar?
¿Quién soy yo, Piedra Viva,
para atreverme a pisotear
aquello que en tu juicio
tuviste a bien respetar?
¿Quién soy yo, Príncipe de Paz,
para atreverme a enemistar
aquello que en tu poder
tuviste a bien reconciliar?
¿Quién soy yo, Soplo Viviente,
para atreverme a condenar
aquello que en tu voluntad
tuviste a bien liberar?
¿Quién soy yo, Dios de la Vida,
para atreverme a irrespetar
la obra del Espíritu Santo
y de ese modo, blasfemar?

“Daring to blaspheme”
A reflection based on Mark 3:20-35
“To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is to oppose the liberating work of
Jesus, the action of the Holy Spirit, in order to continue oppressing the poor,
the sick and the possessed.”[ii] And also to keep marginalizing those whom the church tradition has excluded.

Who am I, Creative Divinity,
to have the audacity to curse
that which in the beginning
you were pleased to bless?
Who am I, Architect of the Universe,
to have the audacity to question
that which in your wisdom
you were pleased to design?
Who am I, Light of the World,
to have the audacity to despise
that which in your grace
you were pleased to rescue?
Who am I, Living Stone,
to have the audacity to trample on
that which in your judgment
you were pleased to respect?
Who am I, Prince of Peace,
to have the audacity to alienate
that which in your power
you were pleased to reconcile?
Who am I, Living Breath,
to have the audacity to condemn
that which in your will
you were pleased to liberate?
Who am I, God of Life,
to have the audacity to disrespect
the work of the Holy Spirit
and in so doing dare to blaspheme?
