When we are terrified
by thunderous voices and threatening messages,
Jesus comes to us and says,
“Get up and trust.”

When we are blinded
by personal ambition and privileged circumstances,
Jesus comes to us and says,
“Get up and share.”

When we are captivated
by God’s glory but ignore human suffering,
Jesus comes to us and says,
“Get up and heal.”

When we are mesmerized
by ruthless rulers instead of hungry crowds,
Jesus comes to us and says,
“Get up and feed.”

When we are seduced
by heavenly rewards instead of earthly demands,
Jesus comes to us and says,
“Get up and embrace.”

“Levántense”

Una letanía basada en Mateo 17:1-9

Cuando nos aterrorizan
las voces estruendosas y los mensajes amenazadores,
Jesús se acerca y nos dice,
“Levántense y confíen”.

Cuando nos ciegan
la ambición personal y las circunstancias privilegiadas,
Jesús se acerca y nos dice,
“Levántense y compartan”.

Cuando nos cautiva
la gloria de Dios pero ignoramos el sufrimiento humano,
Jesús se acerca y nos dice,
“Levántense y sanen”.

Cuando nos fascinan
los líderes despiadados en vez de las multitudes hambrientas,
Jesús se acerca y nos dice,
“Levántense y alimenten”.

Cuando nos seducen
las recompensas celestiales en vez de las demandas terrenales,
Jesús se acerca y nos dice,
“Levántense y abracen”.
