Por proclamar la radicalidad del amor de Dios,
intentaron despeñar a Jesús.
Por negarse a parcializar la gracia de Dios,
intentaron despeñar a Jesús.
Por declarar sobre todos los pueblos la bendición de Dios,
intentaron despeñar a Jesús.
A Aquel que es la peña
de la cual brota agua de vida abundante,
intentaron despeñarlo.
A Aquel que es la piedra angular
sobre la cual edificaron apóstoles y profetas,
intentaron despeñarlo.
A Aquel que es la roca
sobre la cual se construye la iglesia,
intentaron despeñarlo.
Las buenas nuevas que Jesús anuncia
generan con frecuencia oposición,
porque perturban los valores imperantes,
levantan preguntas y hacen revolución.
Las buenas noticias que Jesús anuncia
defienden al pobre, condenan la explotación,
y chocan de frente con el orden establecido
y con quienes buscan su propia satisfacción.

For proclaiming the radical nature of God’s love,
they tried to hurl Jesus off a cliff.
For refusing to partialize God’s grace,
they tried to hurl Jesus off a cliff.
For declaring upon all peoples God’s blessing,
they tried to hurl Jesus off a cliff.
The One who is the rock
from which living water flows,
they tried to hurl him off a cliff.
The One who is the cornerstone
upon which apostles and prophets built,
they tried to hurl him off a cliff.
The One who is the bedrock
upon which the church is established,
they tried to hurl him off a cliff.
The good news that Jesus announces
quite often generate opposition,
because they alter the prevailing values,
raise questions and bring about a revolution.
The good news that Jesus announces
defend the poor, condemn exploitation,
and clash with the established order,
and with those who seek their own satisfaction.
