When we step on colleagues
to climb up the ladder of success,
scold us, Humble Jesus,
and give us the heart of a servant.
When we betray friends
in our obsession to get to first place,
scold us, Faithful Jesus,
and give us the heart of a servant.
When we malign others
in the pursuit of power and fame,
scold us, Loving Jesus,
and give us the heart of a servant.
When we neglect community
for the sake of selfish gain,
scold us, Caring Jesus,
and give us the heart of a servant.

Forgive us, God of the Cross,
for betraying your gospel of surrender
by seeking victory and comfort.
Enable us, God of the Table,
to discover the richness of sharing
and the bounty of detachment.

repréndenos, Humilde Jesús,
y danos un corazón sirviente.
Cuando traicionamos las amistades
en nuestra obsesión por alcanzar la cima,
repréndenos, Fiel Jesús,
y danos un corazón sirviente.
Cuando difamamos a los demás
en aras del poder y la fama,
repréndenos, Amante Jesús,
y danos un corazón sirviente.
Cuando descuidamos la comunidad
en pos del provecho personal,
repréndenos, Cariñoso Jesús,
y danos un corazón sirviente.

Perdónanos, Dios de la Cruz,
por traicionar tu evangelio de rendición
al procurar la victoria y la comodidad.
Permítenos, Dios de la Mesa,
descubrir la riqueza del compartir
y la abundancia del desprendimiento.
