God of the dawn,
you who undo
the darkness of night
with the rays of the sun
each new morning,
dispel the fog
from our lives,
that prevents us from seeing
the truth
in the midst of so many lies,
the injustices
in the midst of so much cruelty,
and the suffering
in the midst of so much privilege.
Clear our vision,
soften our hearts
and strengthen our will,
so that we might dare
act with integrity,
show solidarity
and defend the dignity
of every human being.

Dios del amanecer,
tú que deshaces
las tinieblas de la noche
con los rayos del sol
cada nueva mañana,
disipa la niebla
de nuestras vidas,
esa que nos impide ver
la verdad
en medio de tanta mentira,
la injusticia
en medio de tanta crueldad
y el sufrimiento
en medio de tanto privilegio.
Aclara nuestra vista,
ablanda nuestros corazones
y fortalece nuestra voluntad,
para que nos atrevamos
a actuar con integridad,
a mostrar solidaridad
y a defender la dignidad
de todo ser humano.
