Dios del viento y la lluvia,
tú que en el principio separaste las aguas,
oramos por todas las islas, costas y penínsulas
que han sido afectadas por el huracán Dorian
o que aguardan ansiosamente su llegada.
Calma el temporal del nerviosismo,
detén el rugido del alarmismo
y mengua el azote del pesimismo.

Dios de la nube y la ola,
tú que en el principio pusiste orden al caos,
oramos por todas las personas, ciudades y regiones
que han sido azotadas por el huracán Dorian
o que aguardan ansiosamente su llegada.
Suscita un torbellino de compasión,
agita un remolino de contribución,
y desata una avalancha de cooperación.

Dios de la tormenta y la calma,
envía tu Soplo Viviente
sobre nuestras agitadas vidas
y llénanos de misericordia y tu paz.

A prayer in the wake of hurricane Dorian

God of the wind and the rain,
you who in the beginning separated the waters,
we pray for all the islands, coastlines and peninsulas
that have been affected by hurricane Dorian
or anxiously await its arrival.
Calm the gale of nervousness,
stop the roar of scaremongering,
and decrease the scourge of pessimism.

God of the cloud and the wave,
you who in the beginning brought order to the chaos,
we pray for all the people, cities and regions
that have been whipped by hurricane Dorian
or anxiously await its arrival.
Arouse a whirlwind of compassion,
churn a whirlpool of contributions,
and unleash an avalanche of cooperation.

God of the storm and the calm,
send your Living Breath
upon our agitated lives
and fill us with your mercy and peace.
