you say that I am king

and then pledge allegiance

to the flags of the world

that endorse ignorance and gloom,

but I am the Light of the World

you say that I am a king

and then pledge allegiance

to the nations of the world

that sponsor war and strife,

but I am the Prince of Peace

you say that I am a king

and then pledge allegiance

to the powers of the world

that sow hunger and misery,

but I am the Bread of Life

you say that I am a king

but you live in such a way

that your life offers little hope

for the suffering of the world

you say that I am king?

then proclaim the gospel

and for God’s sake:

be light, be peace, be bread!

pero yo soy la Luz del Mundo

tú dices que yo soy rey

a las naciones de este mundo

que patrocinan guerras y conflictos,

pero yo soy el Príncipe de Paz

tú dices que yo soy rey

y luego prometes lealtad

a los poderes de este mundo

que siembran hambre y miseria,

pero yo soy el Pan de la Vida

tú dices que yo soy rey

pero vives de forma tal

que tu vida ofrece poca esperanza

para la sufriente humanidad

¿tú dices que yo soy rey?

entonces proclama el evangelio

y por el amor de Dios:

¡sé luz, sé paz, sé pan!
