From the Pastor: “On Celebrating Love”
According to National Geographic, the average consumer will spend around $103 on gifts, meals, and celebrations for Valentine’s Day. Just think what would happe if that average expenditure was placed in offering plates on Sunday, or donated to charity! Clearly, we know how to celebrate Valentines. But do we know how to celebrate God’s love? The Bible tells us that we do that by choosing life and embracing everyone, even our enemy. Are we ready to embrace such costly love, or will we rather settle for the $103 imitation? Come Holy Spirit, and put our hearts on fire with your love! ~ Rev. Magdalena I. García

De la Pastora: “Sobre Celebrar el Amor”
Según National Geographic, el consumidor promedio gastará alrededor de $103 en regalos del Día de San Valentín. ¡Imagínese lo que sucedería si ese dinero se depositara en los platos de la ofrenda dominical, o si se donara a caridades! Queda claro que sabemos celebrar San Valentín. ¿Pero sabemos celebrar el amor de Dios? La Biblia nos dice que esto consiste en elegir la vida y abrazar a todo ser humano, incluso nuestro enemigo. ¿Estamos listos para practicar ese tipo de amor costoso, o nos contentaremos con la imitación de $103? ¡Ven, Espíritu Santo, y enciende en nuestros corazones el fuego de tu amor! ~ Rev.
